Obviously, you encountered a very new player who was very willing to lend evidence to Nepenthe's theory of CF arrogance and say "I know what I'm doing. Hang with me!" Despite his mighty achievement of a level 15 bard, I'm willing to bet he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground yet.

Where I disagree is how you handled it. Whispering "Don't go OOC" is going OOC. It encourages him to continue the discussion in an OOC context, since you are clearly willing to do so.

What I would have done: Stayed in role. When he said "I'm good at this game", I'd do a little emoting to show him that I look confused, and then ask him what game he is talking about. I'd drop some pretty strong hints, but I'd avoid saying anything that my character wouldn't say.

Sometimes this fails. This is when a suitably worded pray is in order. However, "kick this idiot off" is completely uncalled for. He's obviously new and clueless. Having an IMM call him in an explain what is wrong is probably the best course of action. If he catches on, cool... you've started someone along the road to roleplaying.

"Helpless baby": Your questions here are often a bit newbieish. There's nothing wrong with that, but you're hardly in a position to parade about and mock those who are even more newbieish. Help them, just as you yourself like to be helped.
