good luck. "You don't get something for nothing
It's an interesting idea, and one that has been batted around Asgaard a few times. However as Arcane pointed out...normal players are always going to "forced" to reach the level of the over achiever. I mention this only because I think it's important to realise that when invokers were made, we wanted to give the studious magician a leg up (so to speak). What happened from there...as you well know, is now everyone feels forced to learn all 6 shields. The thing I see happening if an invoker is given the choice of 3 elemental paths with higher and further spells...is only 3 every being used due to the nature of the game, I forsee ice, fire and lightning...or maybe water, with a rare invoker going earth or air. Not that this is a bad thing paticularly, but look at transmuters...how often do you see a water major/utlity minor? Not that any of this is really a reason not to do it...just another side of the coin that we've looked at. I have no idea what will end up happening (if anything) to invokers, but I figured I'd jump on this post and ramble a bit. At the very least to assure everyone that we have chatted about it, and are aware that practicing like a mad monkey sucks.
