Its why are they still going to high school after getting offers in a college?

I am guessing the American and British system are different to the Australian system?

If I am correctly reading what you are saying its that in Australia you finish your schooling before you apply?

In the UK we apply at the start of our final year, get conditional offers from a maximum of 6 universities ie: 'you need A grades to come here etc'(4 if you apply for medicine.) Then you narrow down your offers to two Universities.. a first and second choice. Then you take your exams and finalize things with the uni when your results are released.

There is at least half a school year where you know where you are going if you do well in your exams.

Not sure about the US system tho.
