You could have a long list of edges, and see it disappear after picking one of them. That could mean that the edge you chose was so expensive, you haven't got any points left to buy any of the rest.

But it could equally just be that you have a list of low cost edges and only enough points to buy one of them. How would you be able to tell the difference ...

So how do you, reliably, figure out edge costs?
