Not sure how a fight that starts with an AP summon/kill attempt hoping to get unwanded shifter turns into a "shameless ganking" in your eyes.
Really brave and gutsy for this guy, but this guy also has a badass reputation, not to mention Overpowered accusations. They were throwing the kitchen sink at him and hoping it worked, while
he had a reasonable chance of killing a non-paladin and getting away. In fact, if he wasn't literally AFK in the last scene, he had good teleport opportunities.

It's extremely hard for a Fort dude to find a good RP reason to leave a strong AP's weapon untouched.
Much more so than a battlerager.
