Maces don't parry well. I suppose the moderately high dex with no carry weight may account for better than average dodging.

I've seen him in game take damage and it's usually much less than the person (who is of course fully geared) that he's fighting.

I just don't see the point of the insane, easily accessible village powers at this point. I mean mages have a never ending treasure hunt in places most can't get to until hero (and even then need help).

"call resist" just seems a hell of a lot easier.
