If anyone cares what is happening here is that the act of killing a foe is setting Fessara's position to standing from fighting. Until the next pulse of combat where Fessara is attacked, which would set Fessara's postion to fighting. The characters position is what determines valid actions, such as movement or casting a spell that requires a character be out of combat. This is definitely fixable, the function that does the heavy lifting when a player makes a kill has to be updated to check for other creatures or players in the room fighting that player, however it's a very old problem. Given Umiron's tendency to consider old bugs to be working as the original coder intended, the odds of this getting fixed are somewhere near zero.
