I didn't play evil conurer yet, but judging by the concept, I'd say the most effective way to play it would be "summon all -> hunt for 5-10 ticks, gaunt -> cooldown". As you get screwed by your own pets pretty quickly otherwise, it seems to be pretty aggressive inherently. You didn't feel like it.
