The Twilight Base of the Nexus Island 
  The soft glow of a moonlight night reveals a subdued structure made of
 glass and fortified and supported by beams, stays and accepts of platinum.
 It sits upon an island of sand, rising high into the air over the Sea of
 Despair.  Somehow, the dwellers within created a small castle floating in
 the sky.  Overlooking the pillar of magic created by the Veil, it
 seems something within this structure guards the forces of chaos below.
 The panes of glass creating the walls of the enclave before you are
 darkened, though you can see a warm glow emanating from somewhere within the
 building.  The platinum frame of the building gleams in the soft moonlight,
 and you can see the stars reflected in its sloping glass roof.  The sand
 beneath your feet seems to be made of ground glass and platinum, each bit
 reflecting the dim light back at you.  Small rocks of darkened stone sift
 through the sand, scattered here and there.  Beneath this plane of sand
 you can see the vibrantly writhing currents of magic of the Veil.  The
 power pulls at your feet, attempting to draw you back to its core.
 Something about the nature of this island, however, seems to contain the
 raw elements below, keeping them balanced and in check.

Inside a Magical Rift 
  You stand within the prismatic veil, a rift of pure magic that constantly
 shifts, ebbs and flows, ever changing with the force of magic within the
 realm.  The veil itself seems strangely substantial and beneath your feet
 you can see what appears to be steps made from sheer bands of magic that
 form something of a spiral staircase around the perimeter of the veil.
 The shadows of night darken the magic yet the absense of the sun does
 nothing to make the vision before you any less powerful.  Swirls of color
 and beams of magical energy wind around you; some just on the corner of your
 vision.  This entire place is one giant pillar of pure magic, and you can
 feel yourself tugged by its influences.  It ebbs and flows around you,
 weakening and strengthening based on what is currently happening with the
 Veil in the realm.  Steps of energy form under your feet as you place
 them, allowing you to move around the core.  The core itself radiates its
 own light and winds up and down with threads of magic in every color you
 can imagine.  Icy tendrils of power reach out to you, and hot wisps of fire
 float past you, not quite reaching to burn you.
