A lot of it also comes down to how the players react to it. Usually the imms are trying to have fun too, just like us. Sometimes they fuck up. Sometimes it's hilarious. Sometimes they greatly enhance the experience. That's just part of the gig, but the playerbase is prone to lose their shit when slighted due to the hyper competitive nature of CF.

I think some of the imms are 'better' at those sorts of things than others. Thror, Enlilth, Whiysdan etc are pretty good at not directly impacting pk/making someone butthurt while still using their god powers to help you feel immersed or do something really cool.

(although one time with an Imperial I was sitting at the Throne Room waiting to defend against raiding forties. I was (perhaps stupidly) IC bantering with hero_imm Nnaeshuk and got one-shotted by his impale about 3 ticks before the raid happened. It was absolutely hilarious due to how IC Nnaeshuk was ALMOST trying to apologize while still staying IC)
