I know how you feel

I used to be a Project Manager for a fortune 50 software company.

Development always wants to ship on the ship date. Test is supposed to be the opposing force and a product cannot ship without test's OK. We were days from shipping the product and Test had given the green light to ship. All the approvals up through the VP had been completed. Then I found a severity 1 (total failure under given circumstance) that required a total reinstall if it occurred that had been CLOSED without resolution in the test defect database. I call up the Test Lead and ask why the F*CK was this not brought to our attention and why did you CLOSE it without a fix or a workaround?? Her answer: We have to ship in two days and there was no way to fix it in time.

ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?!?!?

My next job was Support Manager on the same product and I ended up having to put out the fire that these f'ing idiots started.
