For reference I pretty much only play high risk/high reward games. Day Z (arma2), pubg, Escape from Tarkov, etc are my bread and butter outside of CF.
I too expect to lose everything everytime i play. The difference here is the motive behind why they do it.
If you're decked in top tier gear and die to a gank squad i expect at best to get the shitty leftovers from what the killers replaced.
If you're decked out in Hell gear thats making you an unstoppable beast, then yes i could see an IC reason (i personally would prob only sacrifice a couple of key items).
If you kill someone and destroy everything they have, even what you don't need - its ooc. You're trying to hurt the player not the character. If you do it repeatedly, to non limited items, etc, its absolutely griefing.
