Being a dick to Imms doesn't make you "cool"

March 20, 2018 02:02AM
I mean, seriously. This Imm was about as reasonable and patient as you can expect another human being to be.

You know what the problem is, why intentionally make life difficult for them?

We (finally) have several very solid Imms that seem to genuinely try to make the game better. It'd be nice if the playerbase doesn't go out of their way to drive them out already.

And to answer your question: Yes, your name irritated me when I saw it in-game. If your role relies on a name (or if your role can be surmised based on what your name is), you have a shitty name. Remember, the name "Hitler" didn't have an evil connotation until AFTER Adolf Hitler Nazi'd Europe. You character's role and actions can make the name mean something; the name itself shouldn't give meaning to your character.

Does Praetoria really break the naming convention?

The Praetorian Guard were like the Secret Service of Rome. They protected the Emperor. That's what I saw when I looked at that name. (n/t)

saagkri 220 March 20, 2018 09:32PM

This. You don't even need to google, it's common knowledge. (n/t)

Kstatida 209 March 20, 2018 10:37PM

It is inevitable that this was going to happen, so here you go.

Frosty 269 March 20, 2018 10:17AM

I don't know if you have the resilience (or basic minimum mental stability) to play CF; this is a Krilcov / funnyone seed waiting to sprout (n/t)

There are many ways to make a romanesque name that doesn't break naming rules

Kstatida 414 March 19, 2018 09:31PM

True story. I knew a guy named Flavius Dick. (n/t)

saagkri 254 March 20, 2018 10:08AM

Kstatida 252 March 20, 2018 11:23AM

I'm okay with actual Roman names.

Just like "inski" makes everything Russian

MiyagiYojimbo 313 March 20, 2018 02:16AM

Which is funny, since isn't "inski" actually Polish? (n/t)

asker 224 March 20, 2018 08:34PM

All your polish belongs to us (n/t)

Kstatida 222 March 20, 2018 10:48PM

So long as they don't translate into a relatively common word.

Murphy 395 March 20, 2018 12:19AM

Always though it was hilarious that he's a dung beetle.

This deserved a punch. Not a laugh. You got lucky. I laughed.

Matrik 329 March 20, 2018 04:59AM

As a serial name-pusher this is a bit much, even by my absurdly lax standards. (n/t)

wrathpuppet 221 March 19, 2018 07:13PM

Yes.

Frosty 300 March 19, 2018 06:59PM

Matrik 293 March 19, 2018 06:10PM

Jarmel 372 March 19, 2018 05:40PM
