But I'll bite.
The mechanics Nep had at his disposal when coding flow of shadows was whether or not the chracter was affected by sneak, or quiet movement. This is a binary yes or no check. If you have sneak from an item... sneak stops working when you are in combat (no). If you are a race with sneak as an inherent, it doesn't (yes). If you are a race with quiet movement, it doesn't drop when you fight.
This would agree with everything Nep said about the legacy. He said that the legacy is helped out by being an elf, dark elf, or half-elf, half-drow. He said it is not helped by wearing an item which gives you sneak.
So the question is, does faerie fire alter the equation like McBeth and Rhy say it does without evidence? Does faerie fire change the sneaking status of elves? As far as I remember from attempting to use it so that I could see which direction elfs fled... The answer is no. Faerie fire doesn't stop elves or dark elves from sneaking.
Therefore, in my opinion, and based on Nep's explanation of Flow of Shadows, faerie fire has no affect on flow of shadows. If sneak actually stops elves and d-elfs and halfies from sneaking or quiet moving, then it might. I don't think it does. I'm basing this off of old recollection. You can test this by casting faerie fire on an elf pc or npc, and seeing you can see it move into your room.
