Above a Small Canyon 
  Leading out of the small canyon below, a narrow pass heads up into the
towering heights of the Shadow Peaks.  From this height, the vastness of the
Silverwood Forest spreads out to the western horizon.  Many of the trees
here have the silver tint reminiscent of the wilderness below though they
lack the majestic size.  The landscape begins to become barren and rocky
further up the mountains.  This transitional zone creates a quiet peace
between the thick forest and barren heights of the cliffs above.

Among the Rapids 
  Cutting deeply into the valley floor, the churning river flows swiftly
through a narrow canyon.  Swirling rapids and the powerful current make the
waters nearly impossible to navigate a boat through.  Rising along either
side of the river are nearly vertical walls of rock which prevent any
attempt at escape.  An ever-present roar is accompanied by battering waves
to disorient the senses.  Various logs and other debris make the river even
more treacherous as it flows northward.

Among the Rapids 
  Firmly caught within the grasp of powerful rapids, the roar of the water
is deafening.  Maneuvering through the dangerous whitewaters is a
challenge, though there is little other option.  The sides of the canyon
are too steep to climb and the current flows swiftly northward.
Occasionally pieces of driftwood and other debris are visible among the
turbulence, reminders of further danger within the whitewater.  Spray from
the rapids makes everything slippery, wet, and cold.  Somehow, the roar of
the water is even louder to the north.

Within a Magnificent Waterfall 
  Ending as if cut by a great knife, the plateau suddenly vanishes, dropping
hundreds of feet to the river below.  The roar of the water rushing past is
deafening as it cascades over the cliffs in a dramatic display.  Slick with
mist from the falls, the vertical cliffs are nearly impossible to scale.  A
few daring forms of moss and dwarf trees have taken root in the side of the
bluff, but most succumb to the force of the water.  Gravity calls beckoningly
downward off the cliffs, enforced by power of the river.

The Base of a Waterfall 
  Water thunders down the rock face, crashing into a large pool at the base
of the waterfall.  As the bluffs rise upward they reveal little of the
above landscape beyond a few trees which reach past the edge of the cliffs.
The rocks surrounding the falls are slick with spray as the basin is
churned into a frothing white foam.  Once past the edge of the pools the
waters calm significantly, slowly flowing northward towards Voralia's
Tears.  The surrounding landscape is untamed wilderness, leaving little
option but to follow the river.

A Calm Stream Near a Waterfall 
  Just beyond the basin of a large waterfall, the turbulent waters quickly
settle into a calm stream.  Small ripples appear constantly across the
surface, indicating a vibrant aquatic life beneath.  Thick, muddy waters
make it difficult to see for certain, however.  Untamed forests line the
banks as their thick canopy blocks most of the skies from view.  Among the
thick underbrush, only a few small game trails visibly reach the edge of the
stream, suggesting the best option is to follow the water's course.
