  Just inside the prison sits a small desk and a small chair. Other than
these two simple pieces of furniture, the jail is totally and irrevocably
dull and plain. The ceiling is rather low, just over seven or so feet in 
height. To the east and west stand two wooden doors with tiny barred 
windows cut into them at about a human's eye level. To the north the
prison continues.

  The hallway through the prison runs between two cells here. Though not much
is visible through the tiny barred windows in the doors, one can only
assume that the cells are just that...Cells. The hallway is otherwise quite
simple and plain with very little in the way of variety. Simple gray stone
floors give way to stone walls and a stone ceiling atop that.

A Worn Wagon Trail Through the Forest 
  As you trek deeper along the road, it becomes apparent that the animals
are more comfortable here.  A raccoon passes along the side of the road 
and the birds sing a beautiful song filled with life.  The distant howl
of a wolf reminds you that not all of nature is as beautiful and gives
you a reason to quicken your step.  A quick survey of the area about
you shows that much of this road was once part of a great forest.
Smaller, stunted trees crouch to the south of this trail and to the
north, plains stretch towards a vast expanse of mountains.  Further
south are snow-capped peaks that look rather foreboding.

is also the most dangerous.  Born as an avian native, he is both patient
and practical.  His reputation was given as a butcher, when he went on a
killing spree that lasted for years.  Some claim he assassinated in the name
of Ostalagiah giants, for a handsome fee.  Others know him to be a solitary 
mercenary, gaining his own pleasures from his fanatical killings.  He is no
larger than six feet in height, with well toned muscles that portray a sense
of confidence and expertise.  His eyes are withdrawn, though an inner torment
can be seen if you look carefully.  He is clad in nothing but blacks, and it
is rumored that regardless of which weapon, Reflous can put it to good use.

the structure stand strong.  The other two walls however are not

in hanging dried plants.  Small trails lead to the south, west and 
east.  The north wall of the house blocks any progress in that 
direction.

Along the Eastern Road 
  Constructed of great slabs of closely fitted stone, a wide and well-
traveled road runs to the east and west here alongside a narrow but deep
rocky crevice that splits the earth just to the north.  The rocky land,
resplendent in faded colors of brown, red, and yellow, spreads out in all
directions, blending seamlessly into the endlessly swirling Sands of
Sorrow to the southeast.  Tough plants with spiny leaves dot the
surrounding landscape, growing in small clumps where moisture collects
close to the surface.

Eastern Steps of the Great Temple 
  Each step that leads up to the Great Temple is seven spans across, wide
enough for the Sultan's infantry units to march up and into the holy chambers
beyond.  Gigantic earthen vessels line the steps, matched pairs burning
blessed sage and scented woods and sending sweet-smelling smoke towards the
heavens.  At the top of the steps tower caryatid columns, each maiden veiled
and bearing a curved sword.  An arched frame carved with the Saints of the
First Age is balanced on their heads and serves as a stage for the dome of 
colored glass that lies up and over the painted statues above.  To the east
lies the crowded city market.

The Great Temple of Hamsah Mu'tazz 
  Here on the main floor of the Great Temple, the crepuscular light that
filters down through the upper arches beneath the dome of colored glass and
the delicate stone images of the Theran gods illuminates the painted tiles
that adorn the consecrated walk around the Temple perimeter.  An alcove of
lit candles burns to the west, where prayers to the Gods of the Morning hang 
from beaded cords like a suspended liturgical library.  Archways lead north 
and south through the Temple proper.  To the east a flight of long stone steps
leads down to the chaos of the city's market.

  You are in a chamber with a high, vaulted ceiling.  Candles above the simple 
and elegant altar light the room with a mystical glow.  This section of the 
temple is dedicated to those who practice the healing arts, a priesthood that 
is highly praised by the Sultan himself.  A doorway at the back of the chapel 
leads into the chamber of the High Priest of Restoration.

the north where steps lead up to a balcony that overlooks the Temple floor. To
the south a short flight of steps leads to the public altar.  A pair of arch-
ways to the east and west lead to other halls of the Temple.
