**So I am getting sick of this guy's constant trash talking. I start searching

I've long realized that the barbarian horde might hold animosity for me and
certain members of the Brigade who also possess the spark of magic. However,
there has always been an unspoken understanding that whatever quarrels we
might have with each other, it was never to follow beyond the gates of the
Fortress, or into the savage territory of the Village. Somehow, somewhere,
that common understanding seems to have been lost, as the Fortress has been
victim to ever-more-vicious attacks.

I cannot, and will not, pit the Fortress at war with the Village, as it would
run contrary to the Creed, which I hold more sacred than my own life. But, I
also do not intend to suffer this brazen war-mongering with my hands tied. My
goal, by issuing this letter, is that you who hold sway over all of us can
make some agreement - perhaps articulate in written form the formerly intuitive
agreement not to let our warring get out of hand.

There is no safe haven for your kind in Thera. If you choose to cower within

to remain unsullied, then harden yourself and face your impending death
elsewhere. If you wish to press your battles against the Darkness into the

We do not seek your shiny orb, however, just your swift, painful and repeated

We strike at those who bear the Taint, and those of your barbarian children
who do can hide from us at will behind a guardian whom we cannot, in good
conscience, harm. What lacks is parity, though I am old enough to realize
that it seldom exists on the battlefield.

You suggest that we face them elsewhere - I assure we have, and destroyed
the aggressors time and time again. You mistake my words for fear, when
they are anything but. Be that as it may, I cannot heed your invitation to
bring war to the threshold of the Destructor, for you hold no sway over the
Brigade or its mission.

I sought a resolution that was more favorable than the situation that exists
now, and you have rejected it. So be it. I apologize now for the wrath that
your untainted barbarians will suffer if they dare come here again. If they
so much as kick a cobblestone in the Fortress courtyard and shout a cry of
war here, I will see the Red until they are gone or dead.
