When conjies first came out the pillars whacked all, groupmates etc. HOWEVER, the exception is as Laerrist says... the trust cabal would prevent getting hit so you could safely travel with cabalmates. This log does indeed show that it's buggy, the maran shouldn't be getting hit by the pillars.
