That could help, but it's not one key escape. He has resist mental so no guarantee he would "take look of extreme fear in his eyes". In that case even if he flee he has 2 rounds to come back and continue bashing. Even if song lands fully and he return in time you still need to do some damage to him to trigger flee what is not that easy through his defense/bashing lag.
If you ment fiend...well it's not easy flee/return/sing grand through bashing/cutoff. And he still has resist mental so most likely it would be barely created fiend or he would see right through it..
