ARENA BETTING
At the arena mistress, anybody (including the fight participants), can bet on 
the outcome of the challenge.  The syntax is:  'arena bet <char> <amount>' to 
bet on a character or character's team.
 
You may use the character name of any character involved in the challenge, and 
you will be betting on that character's team.

Notes:

The pay-out is constantly recalculated based on the number of bets being 
placed.  This naturally causes the pay-out to be much worse when betting on a 
heavily favored team.

The house takes 5%.

An arena fighter may bet on his own match.  However, he should do this between 
the challenge being offered and accepting the challenge.  This is because when 
the last character accepts the challenge they are automatically taken to a prep 
room, and betting must happen with the arena mistress (not available in the 
prep room.)

ARENA GENERAL
Eager to expand the tourism of Galadon, the mayor commissioned a large fighting 
arena just outside the northeastern outskirts of town.  Here, adventurers can 
test their fighting skills against others, in either single or group combat.  
Both parties must accept the fight, and the arena allows the opportunity to see 
who is superior in combat with nearly no risk to either winner or loser.  
Defeat does not mean death, and all armor and equipment is returned to the 
rightful owner upon completion of the fight.

However, one of the unique aspects of the arena is the ability for spectators 
to safely watch the action.  Not only can they enjoy the violent entertainment, 
but they can also bet on the outcome.  The normal viewing seats offer no 
protection from thieves or attacks from others.  Patrons with a heavy coin 
purse can part with some of their gold to enjoy the safety of watching the 
fight from their private SUITE.

ARENA BETTING
At the arena mistress, anybody (including the fight participants), can bet on 
the outcome of the challenge.  The syntax is:  'arena bet <char> <amount>' to 
bet on a character or character's team.
 
You may use the character name of any character involved in the challenge, and 
you will be betting on that character's team.

Notes:

The pay-out is constantly recalculated based on the number of bets being 
placed.  This naturally causes the pay-out to be much worse when betting on a 
heavily favored team.

The house takes 5%.

An arena fighter may bet on his own match.  However, he should do this between 
the challenge being offered and accepting the challenge.  This is because when 
the last character accepts the challenge they are automatically taken to a prep 
room, and betting must happen with the arena mistress (not available in the

ARENA GENERAL
Eager to expand the tourism of Galadon, the mayor commissioned a large fighting 
arena just outside the northeastern outskirts of town.  Here, adventurers can 
test their fighting skills against others, in either single or group combat.  
Both parties must accept the fight, and the arena allows the opportunity to see 
who is superior in combat with nearly no risk to either winner or loser.  
Defeat does not mean death, and all armor and equipment is returned to the 
rightful owner upon completion of the fight.

However, one of the unique aspects of the arena is the ability for spectators 
to safely watch the action.  Not only can they enjoy the violent entertainment, 
but they can also bet on the outcome.  The normal viewing seats offer no 
protection from thieves or attacks from others.  Patrons with a heavy coin 
purse can part with some of their gold to enjoy the safety of watching the 
fight from their private SUITE.
