if I had a choice
a) dying without any chances at centurions
b) retreating to Imperial lands in hope that:
- It is a huge CIVILISED (meaning you won't run out of moves) area where you can run around a ton berserkering in between to restore health and wait for his preps to go down
- After running for some time and waiting for distortion to be gone, striking him in hope to land stun
- Slaying centurions and leaving

I would choose point B. Because it would give me at least a minor survival chance, you know.

Edit: Should I mention as well that if you retreat to Imperial lands, the chances that you are looted by some random newb who was killing orphans in Balator are decreased? I mean he has to run past Centurions as well.
