Many people I fought at hero would tell me that the wasps were a bit more than just a "minor" annoyance. ;) This was with the apiarist edge, which I am not sure of the exact enhancements, but I know it really bothered some people.

Maybe it was the insects+wasps+wolves that was mean, now that I think about it.
