At the Edge of a Large Sinkhole
  The dry ground gives way here to form a gaping depression in the landscape.  
Slopes of raw earth uncovered by vegetation slant heavily downward into a
gigantic sinkhole of massive proportions.  The sinkhole is at least several
hundred yards across in some points, and is easily the size of a large village
or castle.  The terrain up to the edge of the sinkhole is covered with sparse 
brown scrub vegetation that somehow clings tenaciously to life in the arid 
soil, along with a few scraggly, stunted trees whose leaves provide little in 
the way of shade.  The slope leading down into the sinkhole seems stable 
enough to support a careful descent, if nothing else.
