I figured the Nightwalker followed too quickly after the first flee and Veriak just didn't have time to quaff. Mobs with detect hidden attack instantly after a shadowdisappear so I imagine the nightwalker would do the same and he wouldn't have had time for a gentlewalk. Would have been smoove if he had pulled off a shadowdisappear gentlewalk escape though.
