  Constructed of great slabs of closely fitted stone, the Eastern Road
intersects two decidedly different roads here.  To the north is a shady
lane that slopes slightly upwards as it transforms itself into Bramblefield
Road.  Constructed of a multitude of flat stones, the wide road to the
south runs through a sparse forest of twisted and stunted trees.  Both
the western and eastern segments run straight as a bow shot towards the
horizon, dividing the dwarf forest to the south from the cultivated fields
and pastures to the north.  A few wagons and carts are visible in a dusty
clearing just off the road to the southwest.

The Eye of the Storm
  Everything in this room draws towards balance.  The room is perfectly 
spherical and symmetrically balanced.  The floor is one solid curve of
polished platinum shaped like a curving teardrop next to an oppositely
curled teardrop of shining glass.  In the heart of each drop is a 
perfectly formed sphere of the opposing material.  Along the north
side of the room stairs of half platinum and half glass lead downwards,
and the glass walls give way to the south to a warm glow of magic.
Above you the cylinder of the room is sealed with an uninterrupted
sheet of clear glass.  Tiny sparks of magic resembling stars line the
ceiling and provide a beautiful, warm glow throughout the room.

A Hall of Magic
  This hall has been created using glass panes fused together with lines
and bars of platinum.  The platinum has been infused with some sort of
magic; it glows with a gentle shimmer that floods the entire room with
warmth.  The glass floor scintillates with swirling, curling trails of
magical energy.  Above your head tiny magical lights shaped like stars
dance and hang of their own magical accord.  They move often, forming
differently shaped designs resembling constellations.  The magic fades
to the south, leading back to an austere glass and platinum hallway.
North, you can see a room of almost holy serenity, a true room of 
balance.

A Hall of Glass and Platinum
  Beneath your feet, the floor comprised of glass and platinum blocks has a
bit of sand scattered over it, clearly tracked in from the southern sandy
oasis.  The rich scent of lotus blossoms and desert flowers is in the air,
along with something more powerful, less easily unidentified.  It brings
to mind a memory of sulfur after a lightning bolt hits the ground, of 
crashing waves scorched earth.  It smells foreign, like something from
another plane.  It is not unpleasant, merely difficult to place.  The
glass and platinum hallway stretches to a glowing room to the north or
to the sandy oasis to the south.  East and west the hallway stretches
on.

A Sandy Oasis
  Nestled between glass walls to the east and west is what seems to be a
sandy oasis.  Sands made of finely ground glass and platinum are set up
in carefully combed and raked tiny dunes.  In the center of the room is
a beautiful oasis.  It seems almost a fountain of sorts; streams of water
burst up from the center to sprinkle the pool.  Several water lotuses in
bright pinks, purples and blues float along the surface.  Growing in the
sands are dessert lotuses in teal, brilliant orange, and fiery yellow.
Overhead the glass ceiling has been planted with a few draping cactus.
Through the glass walls to the east and west you can see the tip of the
core of the Veil, and to the north stretches a shining glass and 
platinum hallway.  Above you, the glass ceiling has wide openings to 
allow fresh air to freely heat the sands below.  The oasis itself seems
to stem from beneath the island, though it is difficult to say where its
exact source is, since it sits atop such a disruptive force.

     A perfect blue pool of water sparkles in the middle of the oasis.
     Several chunks of uncut gemstones lie scattered in an aesthetic pattern.
     A brilliantly colored lotus blossoms in the sand.

Within a Sand and Rock Garden
  This sand and rock garden has been carefully raked, combed and organized
to make this place as calming and neutral as possible.  Visually, it is
quite aesthetic and appealing.  Several large pieces of platinum designed
to look like irregular chunks of rock have been placed at intervals
throughout the garden, some stacked to thin pillars, others simply placed
within the design of the sands.  The sands themselves seem to be made
of finely ground glass and platinum.  Several small green bushes and

Within a Sand and Rock Garden
  This sand and rock garden has been carefully raked, combed and organized
to make this place as calming and neutral as possible.  Visually, it is
quite aesthetic and appealing.  Several large pieces of platinum designed
to look like irregular chunks of rock have been placed at intervals
throughout the garden, some stacked to thin pillars, others simply placed
within the design of the sands.  The sands themselves seem to be made

The Base of the Nexus Island
  The beautiful glass and platinum structure of the Nexus headquarters rises 
up before you, gleaming in the sunlight.  It seems to be a low-roofed building
made completely of glass with platinum supports, stays and accents.  The 
island it rests on seems to be completely made of a finely ground sand made
up of ground glass and platinum.  The roof of the haven to the north reaches
and apex at the center, and you can see rainbows of prismatic light reflected
from its glass slopes.  The structure seems placed to contain the roiling 
forces of magic beneath.  Below you the pillar of the Veil writhes 
and changes, ebbs and flows with the tides of power.  Beneath your feet 
the sand shows recent foot prints.  An invisible barrier holds the island
together, keeping it floating high in the air above the Sea of Despair.  
The grains of sand sparkle in the light and the scent of an exotic desert
flower reaches your nose.  Small rocks are scattered throughout the sand 
of different colors reminiscent of uncut gemstones.  The air around you 
feels electrified, currents of magic attempting to close in on you from 
the pillar below.  Something about the nature of this island, however, 
seems to contain the raw elements below, keeping them balanced and in check.

The Eastern Crossroads
  By far the most congested crossroads of all those that surround Galadon, the
old road has been ground into nothing but dry dirt.  The trail kicks up
clouds of dirt at a step, old trails leading off in all directions.  Farms
fill the countryside, extending as far as the eye can see.  The road east
leads straight across the plains, across the desert to the city of Hamsah
Mu'tazz.  The trail north and south extends around the edge of the city of
Galadon, skirting along its border.  The road west leads into the grand
eastern gate of Galadon.  You notice a small sign off in the tall grass.
