No resist mental is the main problem. The other being that bards don't get stuck for a beat-down at the village outer, because they can force the villagers to flee.

Finally, bloodthirst makes you fail to see your hp (although bards can do that anyway), which means if you thirst, you are setting yourself up for dying.
