This is a community game. You need other human beings to play it. Some of us have been playing well nigh over 15 years. Now, you can choose to take the "tough guy - I'm an island - I do what I want - who gives a shit about others" - stance, but even if you do its counterproductive to your own enjoyment in the long run. I think what the point Thom is making is nobody is asking you to be a doormat, but there should be a balance between that, and making everyone else be your doormat. Sportsmanship is a good thing.
