The top power combos aren't -precisely- giant sword or arial dagger but they really follow the same parameters
Isildur posted 12 warriors. Of them, I see 3 primary categories and 1 misc category. The three primary categories are bash specs, dexy daggers, and svirf rager. Of these 12 warriors, a distinct majority of them are bash specs, a total of 5/12.
bash specs:
2004 Granaak (scion) (sword/mace)
2004 Blitzenturt (emperor) (mace/polearm)
2005 Sylus (empire) (axe/polearm)
2007 Igbah (scion) (sword/axe)
2006 Hunsobo (emperor) (sword/h2h)
dexy dagger:
2007 Kostyan (emperor) (dagger/h2h)
2010 Adarmar (emperor) (dagger/h2h)
svirf rager:
2006 Yuvralin (rager berserker) (axe/whip-flail)
2007 Yevandr (rager berserker) (axe/h2h)
2009 Bartis (rager berserker) (whip-flail/h2h)
misc:
2007 Djabree (rager berserker) (mace/whip-flail)
2009 Ghrummin (rager berserker) (mace/spear-staff)
I'd like to note a couple of other things.
1) top bash specs appeared to have been successfully spread amongst scion and empire. I'd assume this is because these are the cabals which see the most action and are most preferred by veterans. Top dex dagger characters are exclusively emperors, and everyone not a bash spec or a dagger spec is a rager.
2) svirf axe rager is a common power build. I'm not surprised to see it show up multiple times in the toplist. I am surprised, however, by the fact that everyone in the "top misc" category is a rager, suggesting that ragers are by far the most effective at killing large amounts of enemies when not relying on one of the specific power builds.
3) Torak's suggestion that 90% of the top warriors are either bash specs or dagger specs wasn't very far off. The majority of the builds (7/12) rely on either bashing or daggers, and the remaining five builds are -all- ragers who can't rely on bash, as they do not have access to enlarge or reduce preps. Furthermore, none of the five rager builds rely on daggers either, which I think makes sense. All five of the top rager warriors are berserkers, which meant they relied on bloodthirst and deathblow to amass large amounts of kills, not the more defensive skillset of dagger conceal and maledicts.
4) I think the dagger warriors up there are the most impressive. I also believe that the reason we do not see a lot of dagger warriors up there is because this list is set up by pks/hour. Thus, in large group versus group fights, high damage offensive bash specs and rager berserkers with deathblow were more likely to take the kills than their dagger warrior counterparts, and successful characters who did not fight a lot of group vs group fights were less likely to make the list, as they probably didn't kill as many people. So even though a dagger warrior may be just as dangerous as the giant axe spec, the giant axe spec tends to get more kills as a result of the nature of his weapons. Thus, for a dagger warrior to be directly compete against their pure offensive counterparts in PKs per hour is pretty impressive.
