I always thought defending was not an option

At least before my hiatus it wasn't. Defending against 4 can be rough, but it's not exactly certain death. I remember several times where I went to defend into more or less certain death 6 man raid style, and it used to be just one of the drawbacks of getting cabal powers. These days I'm getting the feeling this has changed. Has it?
