Funny thing, in most fantasy settings, elves are magical creatures and cold-forged iron ruins magic and that's why they're afraid of it.
CF has distorted it into a completely different story, but still, from the helpfile:

"Elven Society does not believe in killing or destruction as an end to itself"
and that even forbids them choosing certain classes, but doesn't forbid them becoming ragers, why?
