Play a maran, then tell me how reliable Cry is.

Most Maran powers are primarily for convenience. They help noobs who cant properly prep/gear themselves maintain a quasi-competitive presence by handing them the basics.

Mantle of the phoenix is mostly rendered moot by virtue of Flight/Prot evil potions.
Lightforge is my personal favorite since I usually hemorrhage high quality weapons.
Zeal is basically berserk/frenzy minus the drawbacks.
Phoenix brand is fairly useful in PvE, but is hard to get off reliably in PvP
Cry of deliverance is unreliable, and has many restrictions.

Contrasted with Aco powers which open up a few new doors, but tend to be very situational/unreliable.

Favor of the sun is useful, but it is virtually impossible to tell what resistances you have while prepping, which can lead to wasted preps/time.
Spirit Link is amazing (if you are a priest). If you are a bard/mage/warrior, its practically useless.
Spirit sight is useful for when you are blind/dont know the person sending you tells, and need a quick measure of their general trustworthiness.
Altruism is a useful tool for debuff/damage management in PvE and noncombat situations. Makes certain Aco builds so much more viable. Situationally useful in PvP.
Succor is pretty good, but it has very significant drawbacks.
Curse of radiance is amazing, and underused despite its situational usefulness. It doesnt do jack in PvE.
I have a love/hate relationship with Bless Water.

LogFiend 631 November 20, 2011 08:44AM

Pincer can't be at 100% here, I wouldn't be using it otherwise. n/t

jalim 216 November 20, 2011 02:03PM

He said disembowel was at 100% (n/t)

ilostmycoconut 253 November 20, 2011 08:58PM

You learn from your mistakes, and your pincer ability improves 2%. ~

joe 243 November 20, 2011 03:42PM

Cry is dumb. (n/t)

randomthinker 232 November 20, 2011 12:28PM

It needs toned down in my opinion.

TripHitNdip 324 November 20, 2011 07:11PM

It fails way more than it works, and I usually end up hussling over. n/t

jalim 228 November 21, 2011 02:05PM

Are there any known modifiers on it succeeding?

Coumidin 217 November 21, 2011 02:16PM

IIRC

Matrik 247 November 21, 2011 04:02PM

in need basically means its a player not a mob. (n/t)

Artificial 226 November 21, 2011 04:22PM

No it doesn't. It means they have to be fighting. You can cry to mobs (n/t)

ExPaladin(VIP) 237 November 22, 2011 01:18AM

You can't cry to a player fighting a mob. (n/t)

Artificial 213 November 22, 2011 01:30AM

Yeah, totally misread what you wrote (n/t)

ExPaladin(VIP) 270 November 22, 2011 02:47AM

From my one maran, the only time it failed was when you tried using it when it wouldn't work, like in another cabal, or when they fled. (n/t)

Artificial 208 November 21, 2011 02:22PM

Play a maran, then tell me how reliable Cry is.

Forsooth 344 November 20, 2011 11:26PM

It doesn't have to be that reliable to make it lethal

daurwyn(VIP) 237 November 21, 2011 09:37AM

It also costs a buttload of mana. Cry is well balanced. nt

Yhorian(VIP) 209 November 21, 2011 09:33AM

Yeah cause crying mace specs really give a shit about their mana. (n/t)

TripHitNdip 233 November 21, 2011 01:59PM

I often have more mana management issues as a caballed warrior than as a mage (n/t)

ExPaladin(VIP) 229 November 22, 2011 02:53AM

Come back and talk when you've played a maran. (n/t)

RobDarken 197 November 21, 2011 02:14PM

You're talking out your ass. Quit while you're behind. (n/t)

alansmithee 214 November 21, 2011 02:10PM

You aren't Jesus of this game Graatch.

TripHitNdip 253 November 21, 2011 10:43PM

Shame, you didn't quit and now you're even further behind. Sad, very sad. (n/t)

alansmithee 229 November 22, 2011 07:05AM

It's not so much caring for the mana spend, more a question of whether or not he has it to spend (n/t)

ExPaladin(VIP) 212 November 22, 2011 03:08AM

And IIRC I'm a year or so older than graatch, so while he may be old, he isn't the oldest person here (n/t)

ExPaladin(VIP) 209 November 22, 2011 03:10AM

But he is the grumpiest. n/t

Stevers 206 November 22, 2011 07:14AM

If you cry you are a baby. NT

Batman 205 November 20, 2011 02:56PM

Most of the other fort powers are trash.

vortexmagus 325 November 20, 2011 01:49PM

Fort is the most gangtastic cabal ever.

sevriis 352 November 20, 2011 01:18PM

You have some pretty solid HP for an arial.

Forsooth 307 November 20, 2011 09:04PM

Fort just has a lot of active people...that like ganging. (n/t)

Artificial 221 November 20, 2011 01:19PM

The empire gangs..no wait the Village does no wait the nexuns do!...wait wait its the fortress...no..the scions always gang with their massive numbers..wait..wait..wait the heralds gang down everyone nt

tesline 207 November 20, 2011 06:37PM

The one thing is

daurwyn(VIP) 217 November 21, 2011 09:41AM

I'm really tired of getting ganged by all 7 Heralds.

sevriis 249 November 20, 2011 10:42PM

Why impale more than once? Can the maledict stack? (n/t)

Frosty 294 November 20, 2011 09:38AM

Nevermind, I missed the comment. (n/t)

Frosty 229 November 20, 2011 09:39AM

Jeez, three missed pincers in a row on arial. Yeowch. (n/t)
