Is Google going the evil corporation way?

So I'm registering a new email account, and all of a sudden you HAVE to confirm your account through SMS which _may_ cost you money, depending on the country you live in. Which basically means, if you wonder if it's going to cost you money, long story short, yes it will! Usually quite a bit too ...

Also, while it used to be user friendly, the registration procedure suddenly has become a maze of webbed down corridors, dead-ends and false exits.

Never again will I go from one bar to another, disintegrating alien spacecraft with tracer bullets, until the invader monster disintegrates me. NT
