Mang, I have been playing this game for something like 4 months and my highest level character ever is 37 so far, and my current and last were so decked out and rich at level 20 you wouldn't believe it, because "tell hero whattup, here's some rp" is incredibly lucrative. Try it some time :P.
You could rephrase that as, this game is better enjoyed by those who don't flip out when their text-based RPG character gets offed and loses his or her gear, and enjoy the challenge of learning new things. Sound better that way?
I've had a ton of help, too, lately. Seems like every time I log on there's someone willing to show me a new area or talk about prep locations or gang down Uerlante's assassin (oops, lol) with me or whatever have you :P.
Also, between often only getting 2-5 good pieces looted and relatively rarely getting fulled on death, CF has gotta be one of the currently most friendly/mature
So not that it seems worth the effort, but you could get ~50 free hours of +1 str/wis by wearing then removing enough +age gear to turn your young character mature for a moment?
Tough call, side with the level sitting assassin who jloots people or the non level sitting thief with the victim complex that empties inventories for a good time... sort of think you got what you had coming, buddy :P.
So as a disclaimer, I'm not feeling particularly butt hurt about losing to better equipped people and I'm picking Golthazar because I've enjoyed all my interactions with the character...
What are the tactics that would enable a level 20 warrior in Bramblefield-tier gear to compete with, for example, a Golthazar type character of the same level. They were decked from 15 onward, c
So as a fellow newb, I have also felt pretty outclassed in gear in the lower ranks - I've played and succeeded on plenty of pk centric muds and CF is the most frustrating in terms of low level pk WHEN your opponent is a savvy hero equipped assassin and you are a level 20 in the starter set recommended on QHCF :P. Leveling up some (30-40 range) has actually led to way more interesting fights
I guess it's worth my first post ever on this forum to say that I really fucking hated Gnyakuh, he went pretty far out of his way to make a few of my first few characters' lives miserable including fake-befriending followed by inventory/container swiping and "you should have known better" tells to one that had just done 5+ levels with him. Now that I have settled into the game
Hello everyone. I'm an old hand at muds but I'm pretty new to Carrion Fields, been tooling around trying to get a character concept that I want to stick with while learning some of the basics for about a month. I've been noticing a few of the discussions on the official forums and on this one about observation exp, and a lot of people stress the importance of getting in that pre-30
