Yeah, I like that mages seem less gear dependent (since I don't really know all the gear outside of what is on the wiki). I also really enjoy the "feel" of a necromancer, seems frail but if you get lucky you can land a sleep and some spells.

I really like playing a necromancer - really cool style, fun spells, etc. Downside is that it really requires attention. I find that if I'm not paying attention for the briefest moment, I could be tripped and dead.
Are there any classes that generally have the opposite play style of a necromancer? For example, I would expect it to be very hardy, not too deathly, good utility, etc. I'
Yes, I'm familiar with the mercenaries, I've used them before and found them really good. I've been getting jumped during leveling most of the time, so I usually don't have them around. Thanks for the advice.

Also a related question, how does faerie fog work? Sometimes I see it bringing out hidden characters and sometimes it doesn't. Is it a spell check?

How do you prevent getting infected by your own crimson scourge? Several times I'm fighting a mob and I'll get infected by crimson before it dies. I know there is an edge that protects against this, but I don't have enough points for it yet. Any way to reduce the chance in the meantime?
