As a possible debate for another day when people are making rational arguments and not trying to either bury or white night a guy:
How much control or leeway should leader players have over the conduct of a cabal? How much leeway is too much? When can use of cabal powers constitute abuse? Who decides this - general consensus or the imms over that cabal?
Are some cabals more likely to be abu
Yes, I have read his posts on officials. He is very passionate about his character. He is arguing with his heart. There is also some stuff behind the scenes that most of you do not know. Most people are also not trying to have a rational discussion about this character. What is the lead post here? Who is going to claim this sad excuse....blah blah blah.
I just get tired of people trying to br
Perhaps it would be better if I said I never saw him gear with the guards. I also never saw him take the guards to do anything except take the fetish or hunt criminals. I played with him a pretty decent amount. And unless you are an assassin outlander, I am not sure how you can unequivocally state he was not going after a criminal. Can YOU see who is on all the time? No? Oh. But you automatically
Do you think a player who plays that much and knows the mud this well is more dangerous uncaballed, or less? If he is uncaballed then whatever slight rules placed upon him by roleplay or cabal interaction are not there. How do you think that is going to work out? If he is uncaballed do the imms really have a reason to check his behavior?
Furthermore, he did not necessarily want provost or mar
You sound suspiciously like my 14 year old son when I explain to him why his curfew on school nights is different than his 16 year old sisters. Basically you are saying "Well I can't do it so why could he?" He never ranked with the guards. He never geared with the guards. When the guards left the city with him he was going after a criminal specifically or to take the fetish.
Le
I am interested in how he was a sad excuse when he
1) increased the strength of the Spire
2) beat the bricks off the Outlanders, emptied their cabal, and kept the fetish 90% of the time
3) probably smoked you more than once
4) would have successfully beat the bricks off the Village and emptied that one too. You think Thelatheleo was getting his con death to Nexus?
Hello all! Brujay is done. I wanted to share my thoughts and then make some goodbyes. A lot of positives and negatives to arial ap, especially with tribunal powers allowing you to see hidden. First of all, I was never quite sure how an arial ap "fit" as far as a melee type or mage type. I tried it both ways. In Lhokai's log someone asked why an arial ap was using a mace. I spent a
Ild rarely dies and has been level sitting at 42 for about 40 forevers. This means he has hero level gear without the risk of having to fight 90% of heroes. He's just been down there waiting for a new crop of mid thirty and up people to come along. Lucky you!
Ild most likely had high morale and other stuff from Llathe's bard songs. By no means am I accusing them or perma, ganking, or
I have had problems finding groups and have abandoned characters simply because some race/class combos are terrible for solo ranking. I quit on a rank 30 lightwalker arial thief just becuse it was so damned hard to get more than 200 xp per rest on my character. It comes down to kill one mob rest for 3-4 minutes kill one mob. So at this point you're basically playing a resting/sleeping charac
I am not sure how the perma thing should work but I was thinking to myself last night that a certain Imperial conjurer and a certain Imperial antipaladin should be working together all the time right now to get to hero. They are within 4-6 ranks respectively of it and seem to play about the same time I do. I do not understand with our playerbase being what it is how they can tell if something is
Actually I did not know that. Been playing Empire off and on for what seems like two decades now and I never seem to get demoted. Although when I auto'd I was anathema. Weird
I was wondering how long it would take for my assassin to autodelete. I was very frustrated with my time in Empire for two reasons. First of all, the cabal seemed to empty during my playtimes right when I was getting powerful. I really enjoy cabal stuff and when you're doing it alone it gets old. I was also very frustrated about donations and that I was never promoted to elite. I have no ill
Cheating with any online social platform is always going to be there. This is still true in CF. A player I know is taking a break from CF because a level 20 assassin had an elemental weapon from the Octagonal tower. I recently worked with a level 14 conjie who gave my character 20 gold and Alabast. How does a 14 conjie get 20 gold, and how and why would he have Alabast. Sure, sure, I know you
Yes! Listen to daurwyn and do most of what he says on this one! Variety will keep the game lively for you. I quite honestly play evil characters. I guess either I am messed up or need to vent after eight hours of doing customer service and smiling in the face of people who are idiots or jerks. But anything gets stale. Right now I am actually playing a goodie and actually past rank 15 with it! I d
I am impressed that fight went so long and also now I know how a fight with a character I am playing would go against Gaspare. Gaspare and the crew did the destructor in what - 5 rounds? It takes me and sometimes me and one other 4-5 tries to knock that big fellow down. If Gaspare runs through the destructor that fast then it is a compliment to Thuoren the fight lasted as long as it did. Your res
Hey nice logs and nice work. Particularly since lots of folks lately are running around saying that assassins are broken as all get out. Except for the one Kotegaeshi it looks like you had him pretty well through the whole series of conflicts.
I think folks forget about the value of charge set. I knew it was good. I guess I did not realize HOW good. He was close to 50% life after each one. Gr
the advice is great. I honestly think that I could have a Scarab if I really wanted to invest the time. Maybe this summer when school is out I might be able to. I really have so much going on that 4-5 sessions of 2-3 hours a week is where I am at now. I was just looking more for opinions about overall game play and game balance rather than how do I get in or anything like that.
That being sai
First of all I had to be away from the Boards for a couple of days, so I just got back and read the debate today. Thank you all and extra thanks to those who took the time to make serious points and not personal attacks against other people. Some things if these people will respond to me -
Jib - Is the cabal designed to be very exclusive? I think it is from the standpoint that you pretty much
I think I read somewhere that someone did a pk/hr played comparison by class, race not included. I think that AP had the highest pk/hr on that list. I remember that because I was surprised by it. This tends to beg the question on what race makes the best AP killer to get to 100 pkills fastest.
There is another aspect too - that is level. Rangers get snare at 40, for example. Once they get snar
I am wondering if it would be better for the game if the Scarab cabal were eliminated and the Scion cabal were brought back. The main reason is that it is near impossible to get into that cabal because no one is ever one. I have tremendous respect for what Scarabaeus has done so please don't take this wrong - he's just not on all that often from what I gather. He is the main way I under
Yes you are right but I think the idea still remains the same. You sacrifice dodging and dex skills for pure damage results. When you can make sure a fight lasts 2 -3 rounds at most then you can sacrifice those 2-3 dodges you might have had, I would guess. I have never seen it in my own characters but I have heard of a cat who sometimes builds dwarves to over 100 dam roll. If he gets a pummel/dru
I always that that non dodging classes who don't use Dexy skills wore that stuff. I guess this brings it to guys like fire giant APs who do not intend to vault very much. How much does any giant rely on dodge as opposed to parry/shield block? For the spiky green gear, how much does your ambush/bearcharge cloud ranger really need to block?
As an aside, it's always a balancing act. It
Actually, I am honestly terrible at PK. I doubt I have ever had a positive ratio. I am pretty good at avoiding PK and escaping, but I am so terrible at PK it's funny, particularly since this a pk/roleplay game. I was just wondering if the reason everyone else is so much better than me is that they're out there banging triggers and I am not. I do use several function keys, but the only o
In reading the messages from the Character Feron on the Char board and there seems to be some negative reaction to the thought of using triggers. Is the use of triggers a good thing or one that is recognized by the playerbase as bad? Honestly, I don't use triggers because I am not smart enough or intense enough to program them in on my client. Do people think less of you when you use trigger
we see a wound an eviscerate heal right up as the round goes over. Then we see you mangle and Jeede is in perfect health. How does that happen? Because whatever that is, I need some of that please!
