A while back the Imps and I discussed how to better manage the problem of finding quest solutions posted on the Forum (we've got better things to do with coders than have them keep re-writing quests because people can't keep their mouths shut). So we decided to implement a minor form of in-game banning that could apply to all exploration areas in the game. Since the problem arose around Hell, I was the first to make use of the "explore ban" code (and Charon makes for an excellent place to check for explore banning). Some of the other exploration areas don't lend themselves quite as easily to banning and, although we've discussed it some on how to do that (it seemed too disruptive to IC play to have a force field just prevent banned players from entering an explore area), I don't think we ever came up with clever ways to do it.

Now, that said, I should mention two other things:

(1) Just like site bans, someone can be permitted through "explore area" bans. This would be extremely rare.

(2) Those that reveal quest solutions aren't the only players that will be banned from exploration areas.
