Sigh, you asked me to answer, I would try > Transplendant archons are out of order because...? If I can see whom the victim is fighting it can as good as I can see the room. I personally was gaunted 3 times, and actually Can't answer, I did not get it > So, smart as you are, you can think of no ways to thwart Clairvoyance? No, I don't know how.
> Though I applaud your use of examples, judging a class based on whether or not they can "raid big D solo at 40 rank" is hardly an appropriate measure of whether a class is imbalanced. I assume you're using an intuitive definition of "overpowered" and that you are in fact referring to game balance.
Of course, hard to get exact definition of the word "overpowered"
so there should be some kind of compromise.
If one person can raid solo at low ranks, could explore alone better than anybody else
could smash whole groups, can be as protected as a healer and do good damage the same time
etc, etc, and with 0 extra cost, I could say this person is tough ("overpowered")
and, again, it doesn't mean conjurers are best killers.
because the gives healer's protection + some "immunes" to sleep/assassinate/etc
and it is hard to overhit a conjurer with transpendant archon
without tricks.
Anyway, transplendat archons are overpowered... because...they were toned down :)... usually there is no need to make thing weaker if they aren't overpowered.
> Eyes of Intrigue allowed you to look as if you were in the same room as the target. How is it that Clairvoyance is the same?
If I can see eq of the victim, I can make guesses what he's doing
(practicing, for example)
> There are ways to avoid nightgaunts. I believe they've even been posted here on this Forum.
Even if I know some ways to avoid gaunts, sometimes
I just can't use them. Like, if I'm fleeing from the fight
and don't have time get away, or I'm fighting things (in places where I could be gaunted)
etc/etc.. you just can't avoid gaunts completely
and word wide summon is overpowered when it works
(and sometimes it does).
