Save vs Spell

I am wondering what is considered a decent save vs spell. Only thing i ever read on a number was that dhaevor had -100, but i am assuming the general populous will have something less even if that is what they are gearing for. Say for example, should I choose an item giving me -5 save vs spell over an item that gave me 20 hp? How about -10 vs 20 hp (i think in this case yes but not sure)? What i have currently is -36 save vs spells (with war cry) and with a change of neckware could get to -56, but i would give up 60 hp and 60 mana in the exchange. I know an option is carry around extra gear and change based on the situation but am curious what most would choose if forced to. Never used to worry about save vs spell so dont know what is worthwhile. Thanks.
