In Reply to: Ragers powers hardly mimic game effects, high save vs spell comes nowhere close to spellbane in fact it adds to it, and blademasters gloves or human sunder no way in hell come close to Death blow. n/t posted by *ORB* on August 28, 2000 at 09:00:56:
1. Resist. Mimics game effects in the same way transform does barrier. (Only plain resist isn't as good as the combined effects non-ragers can get with game knowledge). 2. Truesight. Mimics game effects that non-ragers can easily get. ******** Spellbane: Comes at the expense of never using any spell or spell-like effects. Does not work against mobs. Deathblow/Thirst: Comes at the expense of hitting everything in the room with you. Is unreliable, and can not be invoked, unlike the spell-like effects non-ragers have/can find. Can be dodged or avoided, unlike the spell-like effects non-ragers have/can find. Don't be so nitpicky. Not every Master power mimics in-game effects. Not every Rager power does. Just that the ones people complain about either: a. Mimic a game effect that non-ragers have available with game knowledge. (Basically your argument for why Master powers were underpowered.)
Tradeoffs:
b. Come with a hefty penalty for the use.
