Why is Dhaevor have the aristeria(sp) supplication at some point?

While I understadn the rage, the dishonor of the tablets etc. IC (OOC I think it's weak) how can such a fight be fair when the bard's songs have no effect? What of honor etc. that Dhaevor was just accusing the bard of lacking.

And I always thought the the village was not just a bunch of uncouth barbarians. Yes, they are barabrians on some level but BT also speaks of cunning and wisdom in battle, knowing your oppoentnt etc. How does this jibe with seeing red and slaying a bard deprived of his voice?
