I have to say, I disagree with throwing the principle out the window.

I think the way to reach people isn't necessarily going to be a big loud violent revolution, but a very subtle touch involving patience, reason and an open mind, to get people, and in turn politicians, to stop leaning towards these socialist police-state trends.

It's the kind of subtle cultural revolution that is already underway because of the Internet and gaming, but it's coming to a standstill the more America trades it's liberty for safety that just doesn't come guaranteed when the American government, which never does anything efficiently, tries to protect the public from itself in the name of politicians feeding off the People's endeavor.

And I think as we go into the next generation after mine, you're going to see alot of people not willing to turn to religion to fix these problems either and decide everything for them.

America needs a fine-tuning but it could easily spiral out of control if it doesn't get it and a Democratic president favoring socialist policies the government can't support because of our culture, racks up the national debt even further. Causing more abuse and fucktardery by the Fed that will throw things out of whack even more. Honestly, I'm beginning to think that in some cases, corporations don't use lobbyists because they are greedy pricks, nor that it's the most efficient and necessary way to survive, but that the truth lies somewhere in between.

This cigarette tax thing is just a symptom of a bigger problem. I'm just crazy enough to pray a group of *artists* are what can point these problems out objectively without being rabidly attacked by their political and religious opponents, rather than a scientist, politician or priest who is born with the charisma and misguided intentions to gain the power to set us back a few decades, similar to when the Library of Alexandria was burned down in ancient times.

Yeah, I'm rambling, but I think that wall of text comes closer to why Death_Claw has the views on things that he does. It's getting to the point that I personally abhor public/government workers and instructors below a higher education level, as much or more than the military becoming more puppets for agendas instead of real defense. I'm not even out of college and already I'm trying to think of how I can avoid the majority rather than change it, and keep not necessarily total freedom with inalienable rights, but live in a society that doesn't presume to protect me from myself because of a very large mass of uninformed, ignorant people that don't think critically.

...Yeah, it's 3 in the morning and I'm thinking too much.

Ron Paul is the opposite of extreme.

Death_Claw 498 October 26, 2007 04:15AM

Bear in mind a few facts in case you don't know them...

Death_Claw 525 October 26, 2007 04:17AM

I can understand that. I wouldn't trust people in the south to know what's best

DurNominator 469 October 26, 2007 08:06AM

For some 'not extreme decisions' it sure sounds like a lot of harsh results ~

Yhorian 495 October 26, 2007 04:33AM

Give me an example.

Death_Claw 512 October 26, 2007 04:39AM

Furthermore.

Death_Claw 506 October 26, 2007 04:46AM

"Hey, lets remove our Tax infrastructure. And let States reorganise it."

Yhorian 484 October 26, 2007 05:23AM

Fair Tax. n/t

Pro 548 October 26, 2007 05:33AM

That's not what he supports, fyi. txt

Isildur 486 October 26, 2007 06:36AM

I'd rather have the States deal with it.

Death_Claw 546 October 26, 2007 06:43AM

I think withdrawing from UN and NATO is a bit extreme move.

DurNominator 534 October 26, 2007 08:17AM

Exactly what do we do in NATO that the rest of the globe applauds?

Death_Claw 478 October 26, 2007 08:22AM

Heh. Rest of the Globe doesn't applaud to much USA does.

DurNominator 496 October 26, 2007 08:41AM

His promises realistic.

Death_Claw 524 October 26, 2007 08:42AM

They are realistic, but I doubt that he will find support for all of them. nt

DurNominator 486 October 26, 2007 08:48AM

Makes more sense. Thanks. nt

Cognitive dissonance will ultimately overrule reason.

Death_Claw 549 October 26, 2007 04:11AM

Do you even know what the phrase 'Cognitive Dissonance' means? ~

Chalupah 492 October 26, 2007 05:45AM

Yes. Do you? n/t

Death_Claw 495 October 26, 2007 06:39AM

Did you read what Scrimbul posted? I don't see the connection. ~

Chalupah 516 October 26, 2007 06:42AM

Your cognitive dissonance in effect ;).

Death_Claw 537 October 26, 2007 06:44AM

So you are saying, REASON is the underdog, so just let it lose? ~

Chalupah 502 October 26, 2007 07:05AM

I'm merely explaining my pessimism. n/t

Death_Claw 518 October 26, 2007 07:27AM

I've got something you can subtly touch, baby. nt
