Immortals and their comments on naming.

November 06, 2007 02:30PM
Instead of standing on a soapbox and telling you what I've learned about the immstaff in my interactions, I thought I'd let everyone make their own conclusions based on this montage of quotes. (note: I selected the quotes myself, I do not promise they're in context) <br> <br>An Immortal says 'We're going to need to rename you.' <br>An Immortal says 'You see,Daros is the leading 2-stroke piston-ring producer in the world.' <br>You say 'is that a joke? or do you really want to rename me?' <br>An Immortal says 'I'm completely serious.' <br>An Immortal says 'We, too, can use google.' <br>An Immortal says 'If you google your own name you'll find nearly 2 million hits.' <br> <br> <br> <br>An Immortal tells you 'The Daros was an ancient civilization as well.' <br>You tell an Immortal 'Daros is an ancient civilization if you're speaking a non-english language' <br>An Immortal tells you 'We are an international game.' <br> <br> <br> <br>You tell an Immortal 'but I REALLY would like my old familiar back. It's making this character really suck hard for me' <br> <br>(tells me to email imps@carrionfields.com so the imps can vote. Here's the email and response) <br> <br>So if it's possible, without any major work, to get me a homonculous like my character origionally had.. could it get done? All that would be required (if I'm not mistaken) is to ping-pong toggle my name back and forth while my familiar is standing in front of me. It should change every time, and when it lands on homonculous I'd be all set to go. <br>Cheers- <br>Mundolph (Daros) <br>Zulghinlour: From a code standpoint this would be major work, and I don’t see it happening. <br>Zulghinlour: Ping-ponging your name around so that you get what you want is also not going to happen. <br> <br>You tell an Immortal 'do you administer this google search to every name?' <br>An Immortal tells you 'Most of them, yes.' <br>An Immortal tells you 'But, that has been brought up on the boards if you wish to read up on that.' <br> <br> <br> <br>An Immortal tells you 'Nearly 2 million hits, most of them in regards to this civilization is plenty of evidence to the contrary.' <br>You pray (by the way. Gaspar is 10 million hits). He's a kingping and guild leader. <br>An Immortal tells you 'Again, that is on the boards as to how some names don't get caught in time.' <br> <br> <br>(anyone know where to find this information on the boards? My searches come up empty) <br>

Immortals and their comments on naming.

Daros 674 November 06, 2007 02:30PM

How hard is it to come up with something original? Honestly.

_Magus_ 323 November 06, 2007 02:37PM

Probably easier than it is not to abuse power. -nt-

Daros 396 November 06, 2007 02:40PM

Daros 417 November 06, 2007 03:33PM

Shane 404 November 06, 2007 04:58PM

Yes

Daros 369 November 07, 2007 07:56AM

The only reason this was an issue...

ShroomKing 417 November 06, 2007 03:33PM

Abusing power?

VoiceOfReason 391 November 06, 2007 03:05PM

Bending the rules to punish a player because you're having a hissy fit.

Daros 365 November 06, 2007 03:24PM

You're the one having an emo hissy fit. Get over it. The CF staff has. ~

_Magus_ 417 November 06, 2007 03:30PM

How were the rules bent? txt

Isildur 1114 November 06, 2007 08:08PM

Recognize that not everyone agrees their actions were an abuse of power. nt

Isildur 1064 November 06, 2007 07:56PM

Actually how hard is it for you to accept the imms comments?

Llohuir 435 November 06, 2007 02:42PM

I accepted that.

infi 400 November 06, 2007 03:27PM

Accept the fact that you tried to bitch about a shitty name when you had one.

AA 400 November 06, 2007 03:30PM

I don't think he had a shitty name.

Pro 344 November 06, 2007 03:32PM

I really don't think he had a shitty name.

Batman 375 November 06, 2007 03:45PM

Devildogg7051 420 November 06, 2007 07:39PM

Life makes you suck a bag of dicks sometimes, what can I say.

AA 421 November 06, 2007 08:18PM

That's simply the way the familiar code works

Re: I don't have a problem with it. txt

Isildur 400 November 06, 2007 08:11PM

Most of the hits are Daros as a name of a company or person.

DurNominator 390 November 06, 2007 09:16PM

Pepsin is an enzyme. *duck* nt

Yhorian 359 November 07, 2007 01:50AM

AA 416 November 06, 2007 09:18PM

Remember, dude, the Imms are people too. Just like you and me.
