there's a point in wilderness time that mountaineers are bad on plains and good everywhere else (except desert, swamp, and water)

You might fail camo on plains, but you're perfect in forest/mountain/cave. Don't think you can even attempt to creep into or through plains (but hills works ok, I think) at that point, and you get a message like "the foliage is too sparse" if you try.

That should go away when you get to "at home" wilderness time. IIRC you can herb more places when you get to max wilderness as a mountaineer, too.

As a swamp/explorer I could hardly camo in plains. I found myself having to spam it in pretty much every room. (n/t)

And then it would last only a couple of rooms if you tried to creep, if even that.

I have had swamp/explorer wood elf too. Creep/camo is hard on plains for them.
