It's a simple equation. CF is exponentially more fun with more players. When boredom and monotony starts outweighing fun, you lose players. When barriers to entry are to high, you don't make those players up in new players. The other site is helping cf by keeping people around and reducing barriers to entry. In a perfect world, it wouldn't be necessary but I personally don't see the harm.
To those who bitch, everyone has the ability to play the game as they see fit just like they can avoid spoilers to a movie. CF is unique because of its immersive RP and PK dynamics not because someone knows they can push a brick in a room and get a potion of bash protection or look at a flower to get an extra edge. How many characters worth of the same redundant spamming is necessary before people decide that fresh air isn't that bad. It only took me walking around one area with people I didn't know calling out key words to look at for obs pts that I wanted to leave, but what do I know anyways.
