Re: Spine bonus is proportional to strength.

Hey, that's a very valid point. I didn't think of it, although generally crappy strength meant lower parry rates anyhow for d-elf (it was really getting beat up a lot).

This makes me think though: typically, spear is wielded by dexy/smart races. Not so much by giants. This is just too bad. Weaker APs are _so_ frail, it's not even funny.

Why would the muter use accelerate?

Death_Claw February 14, 2014 06:03AM

all the time, it boosts defenses (n/t)

I kind of think you're crazy now.

Spine bonus is proportional to strength.

Human/half-drow AP with spine might do pretty decent. Maybe an incentive to make half-drow/elf more playable. (n/t)

bloodmoon February 11, 2014 04:49PM

It's not quite that simple.

Dual wielding vs spear

I see it like this: You're given a full set of tools, but you're stuck on how you can use the ratchet set for everything because you splurged on a universal socket.

sevriis February 11, 2014 10:25AM

Right but if you're going to be using a spear for a decent proportion of kills (nothing beats vault for a wake up call) you may as well take the advantage that's offered. (n/t)

Roulette is a harsh mistress indeed. (n/t)

Matrik February 11, 2014 10:49AM

Yes, but you can't vault with a sword. (n/t)

Murphy February 10, 2014 05:39AM

And you can vault just fine without spine of the akragaka.

sevriis February 10, 2014 06:21AM

Yes and the spear is the weapon absorbing all those charges you've gotten from those fights you win with vault

Elystan February 10, 2014 06:38AM

Yeah, but it's nice to get extra attacks in those two rounds after vault.

And that is how Spine of the Akragaka works. (n/t)
