I'd be happy with the current system if:
A) imms making awards had no sight of ip addresses and imms who shared player identity were stripped of the skills used to determine it (be that snoop, or seeing ip)
B) there was an imm audit panel to prevent an unequal playing field for rewards (eg certain religions, cabals, classes, say, getting rewarded more than others with comparable deservedness)

Automated stinks IMHO. Not every pk merits reward. Not every retrieval.
You could rack up retrievals at no risk and be a dick to get pks. Rewards should be confined to rp or risk taking and limited in power.
