Figure out what is essential for you to win, and learn to always always pay attention to that.
For warriors, this basically means thinking of all the echoes from current enemies that signal you lost a weapon, and how you will deal with it. You need to know this before the fight starts.
Don't spam. I'm sure there are much better players than me, but I try to watch:
1) my ability to execute a command;
2) my health;
3) am I being effective;
4) what are they doing to me;
5) their health.
So after you're not spamming and your health is fine, make sure you aren't trying to bash someone bigger than you, or use a weapon that they have immunity to.
I think after that comes keeping track of more detailed stuff like varies maledictions that are stacking up, and crap like that.
Generally though, you need a gameplan (and Plan B and Plan C) for everyone in your pk the whole time you're logged in. The thinking should happen before the fights. You should have a pretty good idea of what is going to happen, and already know what to do in response to how the fight could go. That way you're not overwhelmed in the middle of the fight. If I see X or Y, I'll do A. If I see Z, I'll do B.
Sometimes when playing an unfamiliar class it can be hard to know what to do. That requires thinking about fights after they happen too. Figure out what worked, what didn't work, and adjust your gameplans for the next time you meet that guy or that situation. B didn't work? Maybe next time I'll try C. Be ready to flee early when getting the feel of a new class or a new enemy so you can come back with a better idea of what to expect.
