You have to understand the skills you have and how they work. They are like any other ranger really, snare/ambush is still going to net you kills. The one thing going for them is their amazing defensive capability inside or outside of the wilds (especially inside). The utility of their extra serpent strike as well as the devastating effects of timed attack (which is annoying to pull off I agree) can change the way a battle goes.

As always YMMV.

So, do hunter rangers still suck balls?

Hunter with archery skill up was the best melee tank I've ever played in terms of straight-up not getting hit. (n/t)

I noticed my old hunter was tanky, but I have done much better with a ranger wielding a healing staff/spear.

baekthestorm July 20, 2015 04:02PM

Nah, I've never done better tanking wise on a ranger than a hunter.

I hear the homemade bows have been buffed (n/t)

Can you elaborate? Played two hunters years ago and was always disappointed by the bow/lack of imbue for bow. (n/t)

Haven't played since, but from what I understand.

Bow imbue hit everything aiming at you with a weaker version of the damage prog your ranger staff or spear would have, or plain magic damage for marsh or if your terrain doesn't give one.~

Hey thanks. I've been wondering the certain details for a long time. (n/t)
