Pretty Much...

Acolytes became Servants of the Dawn when Dawn and Maran joined to become the Fortress.

Warlocks were one of three branches that arose out of the splitting of Master's of Magic, along with Nexus and Scions of the Eternal Night. There is a good explanation in the Helpfile for Nexus History. I am not sure who said they think they should be broken back into 3 Goodie Cabals. I think with our small playerbase, having it all under one roof is good enough (though I would not mind seeing a Warlocks portion of Fortress)

WARLOCKS 'NEXUS HISTORY'
In a time long since passed the Masters of Magic were betrayed, their tower
destroyed, and its practitioners scattered across the lands. Those devoted
to the arcane arts did not disappear however. They of kindred spirit found
one another to begin their mystical studies anew. The dark wizards took
refuge within the shadowy embrace of a chasm in the earth and called
themselves the Scions of Eternal Night.

It was from among the Masters of the Light that a new order would be formed,
to seek to learn from the failures of their predecessors, but perhaps more
importantly to prevent such a thing from ever again taking place. Seeking
refuge for their studies within the Fortress of the Light, and bestowed with
a blessed book of arcane knowledge from which they would take their name,
these Warlocks of the Golden Grimoire would not only seek the knowledge of
magic as did their predecessors, but would seek to ensure that magic would
never again be used for dark and evil purposes.

Lastly came those who chose neither light nor dark. They sought to live
in equilibrium with the world and were called Nexus, the Seekers of Balance.
As the battles of the light and darkness have raged on for centuries and
shall continue to do so, the Seekers only step in when one side has held
power for prolonged periods of time. It is the greater forces within the
realms of which the Seekers were ever-vigilant. For these forces are the
cornerstones of Balance, and should one be destroyed it would lead to a
greater imbalance of the world than any battle of light and dark, or law
and chaos.

Of those forces that Nexus sought to protect it was Magic that occupied
them most. And this, perhaps, was their undoing. For in their zeal to
protect the force of Magic and its disciples they were caught unaware when
a powerful mage attempted to use that force to steal Divinity and become
a God. There was much to distract the Seekers though. The resurrection
of Talia, the curse of the Anti-Life upon the Village of the BattleRagers,
and the murder of the Nexus Moderator kept the world's attention away from
the true villain.

The head of a powerful order of mages that resided in what is now the
Ruined City used deceit, trickery, and brute force to steal the magic
from both the Nexus and the Warlocks. She succeeded in flying the
Warlock's tower into close proximity to the home of the Seekers, the Rift.
During this time, she had awoken the Death Knights to serve her, though
they did so reluctantly. Those undead terrors gained for her artifacts of
ancient and horrendous power. Many heroes united during this time to try
and stop the retrieval of the items but even armies of mortals were no
match for the power of the eternal undead.

As the Tower of the Warlocks neared the Rift, the proximity of the two
allowed the Traitor to use the items of power to form a mystical link
between them. The Ritual that would allow her to become a God had begun.
It was only the intervention of the Goddesses who guided the Warlocks
that prevailed. The Amrylin was destroyed by the backlash of power, but
unfortunately the Goddesses were destroyed with her. With the death of
the Traitor the power that had kept the Tower aloft was gone and it crashed
into the Rift, destroying both utterly. The backlash of power also
destroyed the Traitor's tower and laid waste to what became the Ruined
City. Seekers and Warlocks alike became homeless, and merely trying to
survive after the great tragedy nearly ended them all.
