So I've just returned to the game after some years off, and I'm putzing around using self-acquirable gear for the most part when it dawns on me that 50-75% of the people I see in my level range are rocking piles of hero gear so finally I decide to do something about it.

I ask a hero guy who'd been friendly in the past if he wanted to kill a dragon for some gold. Oddly he declines to take money cause he just wants to see me do well for his own IC reasons. I confide in an ally that I'd made a friend who was going to give me some nice stuff (not unlike some nice stuff given to him, mind you) and he IMMEDIATELY gets pissy with me accusing me of "other world deal makin shit." EDIT: Then he logs out immediately.

Ok NICE! I'm prolly the newest guy around, and I don't know fucking ANYONE on the MUD, and for once I get IC help the way you're supposed to (if at all) and BAM now this guy has me labeled as a cheater...nice.
